At the bottom of the picture, a thick branch of a tree runs from the front left to a little slanted right behind it. On it, coming from the right, lies a young leopard.
We see the leopard up to and including the belly, the left foreleg hanging down and disappearing just past the elbow, the right foreleg lying in front of him on the branch.
The leopard looks left past the camera and stares somewhat into the distance. The ears are round and upright, the eyes open.
The background of the picture is the leaves and other branches of the tree, a marula.
The photo has warm colors and exudes strength. It was taken in Timbavati, part of The Greater Kruger in South Africa during one of my safari trips.
