Woodland Friends in the birch forest – fox, badger, raccoon and squirrel by Floral Abstractions

The Woodland Friends gather in a tranquil woodland scene amongst pale birch trees, ferns and soft moss. A red fox sits by the little stream, whilst a badger and a raccoon peek out from amongst the plants. A squirrel waits on a tree stump, and a little hedgehog stands by the water. Curved branches with glistening droplets connect the animals and lend the scene a playful, fairy-tale quality.

The illustration combines a Scandinavian-inspired design with the charm of classic children’s book illustrations. Muted greens, warm rusty reds, browns, creams and soft shades of grey create a natural, tranquil colour palette. Birch trunks, ferns, stones, moss and fallen leaves frame the animals without overloading the composition. Small details around the stream invite children to discover the individual forest dwellers and their surroundings.

As a wall art piece, this design is particularly suitable for children’s bedrooms, nurseries, playrooms and cosy reading corners. The friendly woodland animals complement an interior featuring a woodland theme, Scandinavian elements, natural materials and understated colours. As part of a gallery wall, the scene combines particularly well with other designs from the Woodland Friends series.

The light-coloured background lends the illustration a sense of lightness. At the same time, the upright birch trees, tall ferns and sweeping branches form a natural frame around the group of animals. This ensures that every animal remains clearly visible and the scene appears calm and balanced.

A fox, badger, raccoon, squirrel and hedgehog come together to tell a little story from the forest. The design brings nature, animals and the gentle world of children’s books to the wall, accompanying the Woodland Friends on their journey through the seasons.
