Wooden bridge in nature with water, perspective landscape view

by Michar Peppenster

This photograph depicts a wooden bridge running across the water of De Pluimpot nature reserve near Sint Maartensdijk, captured from a strong perspective. The lines of the bridge naturally draw your gaze into the landscape, while the still water and natural surroundings create a serene, almost tranquil atmosphere. Small details such as the structure of the wood, the reflections in the water and the soft colours of the nature reserve give the image extra depth and character.

This image was created during a moment of tranquillity in nature, where the interplay of lines, light and reflection immediately caught my eye. It was precisely the simplicity of the place and the perspective of the bridge that made it a powerful image for me: an invitation to pause for a moment and look further.

The atmosphere I want to create is calm, spacious and contemplative. It is an image that brings peace, but also evokes a subtle curiosity — where does the bridge lead? That openness makes the work open to personal interpretation.

For me, this photo symbolises transition, tranquillity and looking ahead. Bridges have something connecting about them; they invite you to go further, literally and figuratively.

The photo was taken with an eye for composition and perspective, so that the natural lines are shown to their best advantage. The viewpoint and the use of natural light create a calm, almost picturesque atmosphere.

In an interior, this image works well for lovers of nature, tranquillity and minimalist atmosphere. It brings depth to a space and can be used in both modern and rustic settings. Moreover, for people who know Zeeland or have visited De Pluimpot, it can be a beautiful recognition or memory.
