A wooden door in Pienza, Tuscany, Italy. This entrance a traditional design with carved wood and metal furnishings. It has a semi-circular, ornate metal window above the door which allows light to flood into the hallway behind. The door is surrounded by a marble architrave and there are worn marble steps leading up to it from the herringbone pavement below. There are three terracotta pots adding some color and foliage to the entrance way, including an ivy climbing up the stone wall that has turned to autumn colors. Again this is traditional for Italian town houses that have no gardens. The door has an entry buzzer and an old black metal post box.
