Wissekerke Castle in Basel is an impressive neo-Gothic castle, located in the beautiful Waasland region. The castle dates back to the Middle Ages, but got its current romantic look in the 19th century under the noble Vilain XIIII family.
The domain consists of the castle itself, a beautiful park, a graceful pond and a unique cast-iron suspension bridge - one of the oldest in Europe! Inside, you will find authentic salons, a historic library and a chapel.
Today it serves as a museum and heritage site, where visitors can enjoy culture, history and a good dose of atmosphere in a picturesque setting.
