In this wire portrait, a baby otter is captured in a moment of hushed contemplation. Its paw rests under its chin, as if deep in thought. The round eyes reflect light and curiosity. A combination that both endears and surprises. The soft texture of his fur is made up of countless black threads, playfully winding across the handmade paper.
This piece exudes calmness and wonder, bringing a philosophical nod to any interior. Perfect for aquatic animal lovers, dreamers or those with a playful mind.
The portrait is composed of many loose black threads, which give the work a playful character. Together, they create a vivid image full of texture and movement. The subject shows subtle densities and the background of handmade paper gives the work a warm, natural base.
This work is part of my 'wire portraits' series of human and animal portraits, including endearing baby animals. To be found in my personal shop.
This series grew out of my love for materials with character and story. Handmade paper fascinates me. Every fibre, every irregularity is unique and depends on the origin of the paper. The thin black thread makes it fragile and in some places almost seems to merge into the paper itself. This combination, together with my passion for creating portraits of people and animals, ensures that I have worked on each artwork with great pleasure and dedication. Each portrait is carefully constructed using Artificial Intelligence, with an eye for detail and a deep sense of connection. A unique collaboration between human feeling and digital imagination.
