In this wire portrait, a Scottish Highlander comes to life with its distinctive long hair, tough horns and calm gaze. The fine black thread lines are playful but also purposeful: each thread adds to the sense of texture and volume in the coat. The pose exudes a quiet dignity, as if he were watching you from a Scottish hillside.
The natural background of handmade paper adds warmth and authenticity. The work feels earthy and pure, perfect for interiors with a rural, Scandinavian or natural feel.
The portrait is composed of many loose black threads, which give the work a playful character. Together, they create a vivid image full of texture and movement. The subject shows subtle densities and the background of handmade paper gives the work a warm, natural base.
This artwork is part of a series with human portraits as well as a large number of animal portraits, including cute baby animals. To be found in my shop in the 'wire portraits' folder.
This series grew out of my love for materials with character and story. Handmade paper fascinates me. Every fibre, every irregularity is unique and depends on the origin of the paper. The thin black thread makes it fragile and in some places almost seems to merge into the paper itself. This combination, together with my passion for creating portraits of people and animals, ensures that I have worked on each artwork with great pleasure and dedication. Each portrait is carefully constructed using Artificial Intelligence, with an eye for detail and a deep sense of connection. A unique collaboration between human feeling and digital imagination.
