My first trip to Sweden took me into the wintry silence of Luleå - and this sunset remains unforgettable for me. The air was clear, almost magical, while the setting sun hovered in a warm golden colour over the frozen Gulf of Bothnia. I stood on the ice of the Baltic Sea, feeling the vastness beneath me and the frosty breath of the north on my skin.
The sky slowly changed colour from deep blue to violet, while fine veils of mist drifted over the ice - like a soft veil that caught the light and carried it on. Nature was completely still, as if it was holding its own breath to listen to this last ray of light.
In this apparent emptiness, something deeply unifying emerged. No noise, no distraction - just light, cold and a heart that marvelled. The frozen sea seemed like a mirror of the soul, wide, clear and calm. Even the moment of the shutter release became part of the experience: I was not just an observer, but right in the middle of it - carried by the ice, touched by the light.
