The little village in the Vallée d'Aure knows what it has: Saint-Lary-Soulan calls itself the Star of the Pyrénées. And it actually lives up to this reputation in many respects. With 100 kilometres of slopes on 700 hectares, the ski area is one of the largest ski resorts in the Pyrenees.
And also one of the most varied. Beyond the green (13 per cent), blue (45 per cent), red (26 per cent) and black (16 per cent) pistes, countless untracked slopes await freeriders and deep snow freaks. They can let off steam in the shadow of the three-thousand metre peaks Pic Long (3,194 m) and Néouvielle (3,092 m). From the Saint-Lary Village valley station at an altitude of 830 metres, a gondola, which is quite overloaded (waiting times!) and the Pic Lumière cable car take you up to the ski circus in three areas between 1,700 and 2,515 metres above sea level. And if you leave the pistes behind you for a while, you can ski through untracked deep snow slopes and experience these unique natural jewels of the High Pyrenees!
