Together with Ten Haagdoorn in Houthalen-Helchteren, the Teut in Zonhoven forms a vast nature reserve of more than 1,700 hectares and can call itself the largest heathland area in Central Limburg. This image caught my eye during one of my walks, a lone tree in the foreground and its reflection in a pond (fen). The grey gloomy overcast sky contrasts with the rich orange and brown tones of the vegetation. The wooden posts and metal pipe in the foreground are a disturbance to the otherwise natural elements of the landscape and add an extra dimension to the photo. The photo proves that it is perfectly possible to take beautiful photos even on a gloomy winter day and that nature has its charms at any time of year.
