About ‘Winter in the Netherlands | Cracking ice on the Markermeer | Sunrise’ by Marijn Alons
As soon as the ice on the Markermeer and IJsselmeer begins to melt, there is a greater chance of crushing ice. The loose pieces of ice are blown to one side by the wind and pile up along the dike. The sunrise gives fantastic colors on the ice and the clouds.

As an enthusiastic photographer I can often be found in Dutch nature. With my photos I try to let others enjoy the most beautiful moments early in the morning or around sunset.
My work is colorful, powerful and it almost feels like you're really there. Enjoy the Dutch landscapes, sunrises, the full moon and animals from the Netherlands.
