About ‘Wild flowers’ by Rini Kools

These flowers, which we found in the verge of a gravel road in Tasmania, belong to the genus Digitalis, known to us in Europe as Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea), also known as common foxglove. It is a poisonous biennial or perennial plant common in the Netherlands and Belgium. It is also used in ornamental gardens and spreads easily. Foxglove grows to a height of 30-200 cm. The plant has a rosette of ovoid to lanceolate leaves, which are grey-hairy underneath. Only leaves form the first year.
The second year, a flower stalk springs up, on which a cluster of flowers facing the same direction develops, which can reach 4-5 cm in length. Stem and flowers are covered with short, soft hairs. All flowers of a plant are the same colour: hard pink (magenta), light pink or white; the white-flowering plants are sometimes considered a separate species. In the flower crowns are dark spots surrounded by a white border.
In Tasmania, too, we encountered this pretty plant here and there. Outside Europe, the plant is often native in suitable conditions. Suitable biotopes are cleared patches of forest and other converted light soils shaded for part of the day. These are probably feral garden plants that spread easily, as noted earlier.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
