About the artwork

In an old monastery in the heart of Lisbon, Portugal, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, I took this special photo of a beautiful Lusitano stallion. What immediately stands out is the serene atmosphere of the place, with the typical blue tiles so characteristic of Portugal. I saw these tiles everywhere in Lisbon, but here in particular, combined with the colonnade and the soft incoming light, they really stood out.

The stallion, with its light coat and elegant look, is in exactly the right place in the gallery. What makes this picture so special is the sense of mystery. The horse is looking at something on the other side of the columns, but what it is remains a mystery. That tension, combined with the tranquillity of the architecture, makes this work unique and inviting.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
