White cat in the style of *Peaky Blinders* portrait

by TheXclusive Art

This white cat portrait, in the style of *Peaky Blinders*, depicts a white cat that looks as though it has stepped straight out of an English working-class neighbourhood from a hundred years ago. On his head he wears a grey herringbone baker’s boy’s cap; beneath it, a matching jacket over a light grey shirt buttoned right up to the top. The dark background allows only his face and clothing to stand out.

It is the face that gives the portrait its intrigue. Two pale green eyes look at you with an expression that is just a little too calm to be innocent, whilst his pink little nose and thick white fur provide a contrast of softness that actually makes the whole thing rather amusing. The long whiskers stick out far and catch some light against the black. The coarse woolly texture of the cap and jacket is visible right down to the fibres, lending the image a tangible quality.

That combination of cool grey tones with snow-white against a dark background gives the work a understated and stylish look. It really stands out in a man cave, living room or study.

For anyone who loves cats, vintage fashion or portraits with a touch of dry humour, this is a print that brings a smile to your face time and time again. This cat clearly has plans and isn’t saying a word about them.
