Small white strawberries on a wooden board from Myanmar. The green crowns contrast nicely with the white strawberries. You don't find them often, these unique little fruits, so if you do find them, I'm keen to photograph their beauty. I was particularly charmed by the contrast between the red, recognisable, strawberries and the white, rarer, strawberries. Together, they formed such a beautiful palette.
Photo taken during a food photography and food styling workshop in Berlin. During this workshop, we worked with multiple settings and products. I saw the white strawberries and the characteristic wooden board and thought it was a nice match. I used the cardboard from the packaging as a 'bed' on which I laid the strawberries, because they felt so fragile. But also as an extra layer in the picture.
These strawberries on a wooden board show that the beauty is in the little things. That the simplicity of things often reveals their unique sides.
