About ‘Where the sea keeps its memories’ by Cobi de Jong

As part of the series *The Beauty of Decay*, *Where the Sea Keeps Its Memories* tells a story of time, movement and transience. What was once a weathered surface is transformed in this abstract composition into a landscape of water, foam and horizon. Deep shades of blue merge with soft greys and whites, as if a winter sea were rolling its waves against a forgotten coast. The power of this work lies in its ambiguity. Up close, it reveals the traces of wear, corrosion and exposure to the elements. From a distance, a poetic seascape emerges in which the imagination is given free rein. Decay becomes not a sign of loss, but of beauty slowly created by time and nature. This artwork invites contemplation. It brings tranquillity, space and a sense of infinity to an interior. The subtle textures and layered colours make it a work that continues to captivate; the viewer discovers new details time and again. An ode to the beauty hidden in the ephemeral, and to the stories that materials hold when time has taken its course.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
