About ‘When the sun awakens the peaks’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

In the early hours, when the world is still suspended between night and day, a panorama opens up from the Nebelhorn that looks like a quiet promise. The Höfats rises sharp and angular from the darkness, its striking ridge like the open chapter of an ancient mountain book. There are still shadows in the gullies, as if waiting for the first hint of dawn.
But further back, the light of the morning sun is already burning. It streams over the Großer Krottenkopf like a golden veil, making its flanks glow warmly and waking the rocks from their nocturnal torpor. It is a moment in which the mountains breathe - silent, dignified, timeless. The contours sharpen as the sky awakens above them in delicate pastel colours.
From the summit of the Nebelhorn, the world seems vast and yet familiar. Up here, every elevation, every depression, every rugged line becomes part of a larger whole. The Allgäu Alps stand there like witnesses to an eternity that we can only touch. And yet a single ray of sunshine is enough to bathe everything in a new light - a light that reminds us how alive silence can be.
