Wharariki Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in New Zealand. It is located west of Cape Farewell, the northernmost tip on New Zealand's South Island. But it's not just the beach that's so beautiful. It's actually the whole area which is impressive.
When you arrive it first looks like you're walking through a desert. Once you pass the sand dunes you come to the beach and there you see 3 beautiful rugged cliffs in the sea. From this point you can walk south for about half an hour to a large rock arch that you see here on the picture. Once back at the beginning you can also make some beautiful walks through the area around the beach. All in all highly recommended for those who have more time than average to discover New Zealand because this area is quite far from the usual tourist route.
