A somewhat zen-like, almost abstract composition, with water, greenery, reflections and whimsical patterns. After a wet winter and equally wet spring, there is still a lot of water in this field, where maize was grown the previous summer. The water, like elongated lakes, follows the contour lines of the furrows between the stumps of corn. And the forest in the background reflects in the wet land.
Interesting detail is that we see two countries in this picture, taken near the Belgian town of Meersel-Dreef, south of Breda. The field is in Dutch territory; the forest is in Belgium.
