Westkapelle Low Lighthouse – Night-time photo on the Zeeland coast

by Fotografiecor .nl

This image captures the iconic appearance of the Noorderhoofd – Westkapelle’s low lighthouse – in the dead of night. The long exposure time creates a beautiful contrast between the warm, familiar glow of the tower and the dark, dramatic cloudy sky. The horizontal streaks of light in the background add a dynamic element, linking the modern hustle and bustle on the Westkapelle seafront with the tower’s historic character.

Standing in the middle of the Westkappelse Zeedijk, this red lighthouse with its characteristic white band stands as a beacon of tranquillity. Whilst the tall tower in the village has stood watch for centuries, the Noorderhoofd has a more intimate, almost modest presence. As a photographer, I seek out the moments when the daytime tourist hustle and bustle fades away, and the true soul of the Zeeland coast becomes visible beneath the night sky.

This artwork looks superb in a modern or industrial interior. The contrast between red, white and midnight blue adds depth and a soothing, timeless touch to the wall. For the finish, I recommend brushed aluminium to make the points of light in the photograph sparkle even more.

Bring the mystical beauty of the Zeeland coast into your home and give your interior a timeless character with this unique night-time scene.
