About ‘Weather-beaten guardians of the coast’ by Bengt Schrum

The picture shows a group of old, weathered wooden piles that probably once served as part of a jetty or fortification by the sea. The piles are heavily marked by wind, salt and weather - their surfaces are cracked and grey. A thick, black rope is wrapped around them, while a rusty metal fitting and an old, rusty bracket can be seen on one of the piles. In the background you can see a dune landscape with tall grass, a gravel path and the calm sea with a stone causeway and maritime structures.
