On the waves of colour. It has something of a landscape, but is that right? There is a figure looking or appearing to look out over this landscape, but where does the figure start and the landscape end. Or does it merge completely into the landscape?
Man's place in nature is sometimes soothing and other times exciting. Here, playfulness seems to win out. At least that is the intention of the colour choice in this undulating landscape.
Yet the balance between light and dark leads to overview rather than chaos, even though the work is full of detail. Getting closer, you can see that waves also present themselves on the smaller level.
This work was made with a digital technique, because I wanted to make some colour variations of it too, but next time it could just as easily be another brush on canvas, which I grab to shape a work, as I often combine digital and manual.
