About ‘Wall relief in Hampi India’ by Hans Lok

It can rival the ruins at Pompei, Persepolis in Iran or the Aztec and Mayan temples in South America. The mid-century temple complexes in South India near Hampi. Here too, a civilisation built its temples and left a picture of their lives. This is a piece of a frieze that wraps around a temple over dozens of metres. It is still a glimpse of a society hundreds of years ago. There is music and dancing, camels being driven, horses ridden by soldiers. Hunters shoot their arrows and hounds pounce on their prey. It is a vivid image from the past and one can have nothing but the utmost admiration for the stonemasons who brought idt to life at the time. They are images from a past but still recognisable to us

Most photographs are created intuitively. It is an image that strikes me, usually a combination of form and color in which a part of reality is framed into an image. The result is a fitting form.
