The Vought F4U Corsair is an American fighter aircraft from World War II. The Corsair is best known for its distinctive "inverted-gull" wing. This was designed to keep the landing gear as small as possible. The F4U was actually intended to be deployed from an aircraft carrier, but was mainly used in the Pacific as a ground fighter and as a fighter against the Japanese. It was fast, sturdy and had great firepower with six machine guns.
