About "Voile d'Indienne"

About the artwork

At Chateau de Villandry, the light fell in on this beautiful June day in 2025 and created a beautiful atmosphere. You can see the light making a pattern on the floor through the panes and playing through the curtains.
The floral pattern in the curtains is typically in the tradition of French indiennes - printed cotton fabrics with colourful floral patterns that came to Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries. In France, these exotic prints soon acquired their own style and production style. Originally, "indienne"denotes a cloth hand-printed in India, but later French weavers also used the term for their local versions. The fabric design is a classic "toile peinte" and it fits beautifully in this salon.
Also note the view: the amazing Renaissance-style chateau gardens.
But I gave the main role in this picture to the softly entering light.
Chateau de Villandry, like all castles in the Loire, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
