The so-called 'Vlooyberg tower' is 11.28 metres high (top platform at 10.08 metres + parapet of 1.20 metres) and consists of a galvanised base structure covered in Corten steel, a subtle reference to the typical red-brown colour of the Hageland ironstone. All in all, the imposing tower staircase weighs no less than thirteen tonnes.
