The Veenhuizerstukken near Stadskanaal once served as flowing fields for the potato starch factory TTP, but the site has now developed into a unique nature reserve.
An important stopping place for many species of birds. Precise control of the water level has turned the area into so-called wetlands. Such a wetland biotope is not only very popular with water and marsh birds, but many other species have also found this oasis of tranquillity.
