The wine south, like here in Varnholt, is spoiled by the sun. The warmest temperatures in Germany are regularly measured here. No wonder, then, that Baden-Württemberg is home to two of the best wine-growing regions. Baden, which stretches 400 kilometres from Lake Constance across the Rhine valley up into the Tauber Franconian region, and Württemberg, which stretches from the edge of the Swabian Alb across the Heilbronn basin and along the Neckar to the Kocher, Jagst and Tauber rivers. The Burgundy region of Baden belongs to the same European wine zone as Alsace, Champagne or the Loire. The wine south can be discovered on numerous paths, trails and routes. From Silvaner from Tauberfranken to Spätburgunder from Lake Constance, from Trollinger from the Hohenlohe region to Riesling from the Remstal valley: Baden-Württemberg's vintners produce wonderful everyday wines as well as top wines with which they regularly win renowned prizes and awards.
