Vigilant and alert
Three sheep stand perpendicular in the centre of this vertical sculpture, as sentinels of the landscape. Their alert gaze contrasts with the soft, calm surroundings. The dense, dark background provides a natural frame that makes the subject stand out even more powerfully. The portrait format emphasises the vertical pose of the animals, making it feel as if they are addressing the viewer directly - like a silent encounter between nature and man.
