View from the Fellhorn towards the main ridge of the Allgäu Alps by Walter G. Allgöwer

Across the ridges of the Fellhorn, a panorama unfolds that feels like a quiet breath of the Allgäu Alps. The slopes rise from the lush greenery, fading into scree, rock and the last patches of snow that cling to the shaded slopes like memories of winter. Before you, the main ridge unfolds – a mighty backbone of stone that has been listening to the wind for millennia.
Trettachspitze, Mädelegabel, Bockkarkopf and Hochfrottspitze stand like an assembly of ancient guardians. Each of these peaks bears its own distinctive character: sharply defined edges, jagged flanks, pale scars of snow. They seem as though they are conversing with one another – a quiet dialogue of rock and time that only those who linger long enough can hear.
Above it all, the sky arches out in vast curves; clouds drift like wandering thoughts over the jagged peaks. The light falls softly on the rocks, making them appear warm for a moment before moving on again.
In this setting, you can sense the world coming together. A place where the Allgäu reveals its soul – rugged, clear, sublime – whilst at the same time being imbued with a quiet, almost tender beauty.
