After a day of walking along Laugavegur, the route between Landmannalaugar and Thórsmörk, we arrived at the hut of Hrafntinnusker. The area around Hrafntinnusker is full of Obsidian. Small pieces, but also gigantic rocks. Obsidian, translated to Icelandic is Hrafntinnu.
At the campsite, we soon found a spot with a perfect view. As the sunlight gently reflected off the obsidian, my attention was drawn to the mountain on the opposite side of the valley.
A beautiful ryolite mountain, beautifully eroded. A sculpture, a creation of nature. A sculpture that will never be finished. An infinite project of which we may be a part for a short time.
