Verona is a city in the Veneto region of northern Italy with a medieval old town built on both sides of the meandering Adige River. It is known as the setting for Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". A 14th-century urban dwelling with a tiny balcony opening onto the courtyard is known as "Juliet's House". The Arena of Verona is a huge Roman amphitheater from the 1st century, where concerts and high-class opera performances are held.
The small church of San Giorgetto dei Domenicani was built between the end of the 13th/beginning of the 14th century. The church was called "San Pietro Martire" from 1424, when it was entrusted to the brotherhood of the same name, and in 1494 it was taken over by the Salerni family. In 1807, following the Napoleonic occupation, it became the property of the city of Verona and was used by the parish of Sant'Anastasia.
