Verona is a city in the Veneto region of northern Italy with a medieval old town built on both sides of the meandering Adige River. It is known as the setting for Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". A 14th-century urban dwelling with a tiny balcony opening onto the courtyard is known as "Juliet's House". The Arena of Verona is a huge Roman amphitheater from the 1st century, where concerts and high-class opera performances are held.
The Palazzo del Cansignorio, long time Court of Justice, built by Cansignorio on the basis of an existing residence, was renovated at the end of the 19th century as the seat of the Court of Arbitration.
