Piazza delle Erbe is the oldest square in Verona, the hub of the city's social, economic and religious life for centuries. Part of its charm comes from the harmonious overlapping of palaces, towers, statues and architectural elements from different periods and styles, forming a unique collage. It was built on the remains of the ancient Roman forum, which included a capitol, temples and baths, connected by an arcade that housed numerous shops.
The Colonna Antica is a Gothic column surmounted by a 14th-century aedicule. In the city of love, a few steps from the world-famous balcony of Juliet and Romeo, the Torre dei Lamberti towers: with its height of 84 metres, it dominates the old town of Verona and gives visitors an incomparable and unique panoramic view of the city.
