The Riva degli Schiavoni is one of the most important quays in Venice. It stretches from St Mark's Square eastwards to the Giardini pubblici. Five canals break through the Riva from the north. They are spanned by just as many bridges.
This photo was taken at sunrise with a long exposure in order to visualise the movement of the gondolas on the waves.
The Basilica di San Giorgio Maggiore can be seen in the background.
