Discover the Beauty of Glass
Be enchanted by "Vase Group 5" by Kees Schouten. This artwork shows the simplicity and beauty of glass vases. With a dozen different vases, each with its own shape and character, Schouten creates a calm and beautiful still life. By using a limited number of vases, Schouten managed to create a balanced and calm work that invites the viewer to appreciate the details of form, light and shadow.
Kees Schouten, a well-known Dutch artist, is known for his ability to show the beauty in ordinary things. His work invites the viewer to stop and appreciate the subtle details of form, light and shadow. "Vazengroep 5" is a perfect example of his talent for composition and his love for glass.
This artwork is not only a visual delight, but also an invitation to pause and appreciate the wonders of the world around us.

After leaving the academy in 1984, I painted for many years. Since about twenty years I have really only made photographic works. Mostly still lifes with glass vases. Glass is a fantastic -but also difficult- material to photograph.
I like to put people on the wrong foot with my works...
