About ‘Under Wooden Arches’ by Steve Henderson

They look like stone, but they're made of wood, carved by the hands of a skilled artisan or artisans in the historic town of Orvieto, Italy.

Walking under these ornate wooden arches, over cobblestoned streets, one is transported back in time, hundreds of years, back before there were smart phones and TVs and cars. And it's easy to imagine this because, in many parts of Orvieto, cars are not allowed, and you tread upon stones that generations have traversed before you.

The artwork, Under Wooden Arches, invites you to take a stroll through this old and charming hilltop city, one with streets that are deliberately convoluted, because in the past, when there were marauders and raiders who managed to climb the steep cliffs upon which the city rests, residents of the city did not want to make it to easy for strangers to find their way around.

And while there are no longer threats from the marauders and the raiders, the convoluted streets remain, a delight to wander through, explore, and pass under archways such as this one.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
