U.S. Marine Corps Lockheed Martin F-35 B Lightning II.
The Lockheed Martin F-35B is the STOVL (Short Take Off Vertical Landing) variant for the U.S. Marine Corps and the Royal Navy to replace the Hawker Siddeley Harrier. The aircraft is equipped with two turbines. To make room for a second turbine (the A and C versions have 1 engine) required for vertical landing, the connection for aerial refuelling has been moved from the centre to the right side of the fuselage. The aircraft has no fixed onboard gun, though it can be carried in a separate pod.
