Aircraft name: Yankee Doodle Dandy
The Yankee Doodle Dandy was the first flight-worthy aircraft restored by the Yankee Air Force. It was built in Oklahoma City in 1945 and delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force. It flew with the Air National Guard in Texas, California and Arizona and was loaned to the University of Michigan until August 1970. After being in service with the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan, the aircraft was bought by the Yankee Air Museum and restored to its current troop transport/cargo configuration.
