U.S. Air Force Boeing RC-135U Combat Sent.

The Boeing RC-135 is a variant of the C-135 Stratolifter derived from the Boeing 707. The RC-135 is a military reconnaissance aircraft used for gathering Electronic Intelligence.
The aircraft is modified with advanced equipment for the purpose of detecting, locating and relaying captured data communications.
In 2005, all RC-135s were fitted with new General Electric F108 engines also used on the KC-135 Stratotanker. Also, all aircraft received a digital glass cockpit.
All operational RC-135s are assigned to 55th Wing of the Air Combat Command and permanently stationed at Offutt Air Base, Nebraska. The aircraft are deployed worldwide.
The RC-135U Combat Sent (6 aircraft of built) is a reconnaissance aircraft for detecting and recognising any possible radar signal and transmitting those signals to ground stations. By mid-2006, only 2 of the 6 aircraft were still in service.
