Turquoise Art Deco Stained-Glass Painting: Peacock’s Tail Full of Love

by Surreal Media

What you see is a tall, narrow panel in a stained-glass style, in which long, fan-shaped arches sweep upwards from the centre at the bottom like a peacock’s tail. The glass panels range from deep teal and ink blue to a soft, almost milky turquoise, with a glow here and there that seems to ripple like water. Thin golden lines hold everything together and support tiny diamond-shaped stones, like little stars along the arches. In the centre of the fan, two golden lines wind around each other to form an oval – an embrace in the form of lines. Right at the bottom, almost hidden away, sits a single pink, lens-shaped segment. That tiny rose-red heart is the detail you only notice after a while, and which then stays with you forever.

This piece made me think of love: two lines that find each other and grow stronger together. The sense of luxury and wonder came naturally. The Art Deco style of the Roaring Twenties is rich in symmetry and flowing forms, and you can see that reflected in every arch. The whole piece is a digital artwork, with the look of rippling cathedral glass and delicate golden linework.

The atmosphere is cool and deep, yet never cold. The turquoise brings tranquillity, the gold brings warmth and the pink brings a smile. This creates glamour with tranquillity and pride – exactly the message I wanted to convey.

In a living room, this becomes a focal point above the sofa; in a hall, it makes a lasting first impression. It also adds depth to a wall in a dining room or office. It suits those who love beautiful forms, daydreaming and an interior with its own character.
