Tug on a rough sea near IJmuiden. Rough cloudy skies big waves between the piers. The tug on the waves with foam heads. Breaking waves on the pier at Wijk aan Zee. Walking to the pier at IJmuiden with a strong headwind waiting for the ships to pass by. It is always nice to photograph on the piers on a windy day. The Dutch coast and the sea vessels on their way to the port of Amsterdam. The tugs providing assistance in this weather to the large ocean-going vessels.
The rough weather conditions are ideal for me to practice harbour photography. The big strong tugs the bellyaching waves and the screaming seagulls in the background are ideal. Raw and the port as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbour is another world.
