Tugboat during towline transfer.
The transfer of the towline is done while sailing. At this container ship, the weather was very nice and the water calm. On a summer day, it is a beautiful sight and you can follow this very well.
The containers loaded for the Maasvlakte need assistance to make the turn from the Nieuwe Waterweg to the Maasvlakte. When there is a storm this is a special job. And requires a lot of cooperation between the crews of the ship and the tugs. But also a lot of communication between pilot and skippers of the ships.
Raw and the port as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always in motion. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
