Tug in action in IJmuiden harbor with sunrise
The tug in action while tying up on the bow of a cargo ship. In the background a large passenger ship and in front of it the well-known vacation homes on the beach. The sun rises the port wakes up and the people are still asleep.
The sailor on the bow and the men on deck are preparing the ship for docking in the large sea lock of IJmuiden.
The tranquility and yet all the action in the harbor. I find the huge contrasts so impressive. The sea vapor in the air that later clears up completely. The sun that quickly climbs the sky and puts the harbor in a bright light. The huge ships cargo ships as passenger ships and the tugs. The sailor on the book almost dwarfs them.
Raw and the harbor as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always changing. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
