Trees, forests: trees are individuals, sometimes powerful, sometimes puny, but they are also part of a larger whole, forests, forest edges, tree layers. Between the glowing edges you get lost in the darkness, in the mystery of the dark, the impenetrable. Each season the image is different, from sprout to fallen forest giant, always part of the whole, the forest or city. Without them it is less green, monotonous. I try to convey a bit of my fascination with the tree & the forest, with diversity.
After the rain, the colors of branches and trunks take on even more depth and contrast, almost 3D. Shimmering and gleaming in the light, they stand out sharply against the sky and light in the background. Brown and gray become truly alive.
This tree at the edge of the garden is a picture. Sitting on the edge of the terrace, it is enjoying this pine every day. I expect that also in the interior of others this warmth of this tree can be felt, and a little can convey my outdoor feeling.
From my childhood, outdoors, nature has had a special appeal. New and decayed life has a special beauty in which I can get lost, discover and feel at home. That can be in the very small, but also in the infinite. My work is a reflection.. Read more…
