In the south of the Italian region of Apulia, in a town called Alberobello, a number of unusual buildings have been erected, called 'trulli'. These are beautiful buildings with a roof in the shape of a cone, and are built without cement.
One of the funniest and at the same time most popular theory says that the inhabitants of the region were angry with the municipality about high wealth tax, and therefore built these cottages. They could easily be demolished and hidden when there was an inspector in the area!
