I photographed this tree frog in Romania. Despite having heard that they would be in a certain patch of terrain, I had to search hard to find them. The tree frog has a very good camouflage and often seeks out surroundings from which it can hardly be distinguished. Moreover, tree frogs are small, about's 3.5-5 cm.
For a nice photo, it then also needs to sit a bit free, without disturbing grasses and twigs in front of it. In short, this little project kept me off the streets for a while. Beautiful markings with yellow, brown and gold besides the fresh green. They have suction cups on their fingers and toes, allowing them to hold on to stems and grasses. They have a long tongue, with which they catch all kinds of insects.
In the Netherlands, the tree frog has Red List status "endangered".
