During my trip to Zambia for over a week, I explored South Luangwa National Park. In the process, we encountered many savannah elephants. Great animals to see, especially when you see a group passing by, consisting of females and their young. Adult savannah elephants eat about's 200 kg of plants a day! This is not easy, especially in the dry season. Fortunately, when I visited the park, there was still plenty of food to be found. This elephant struggles to pull off the stiff grass with its trunk, so it gives an extra tap with its left front leg, causing the grass to let go. This was entertaining to watch.
We photographed from a land rover, approaching the animals with respect and at an appropriate distance.
Although it must be said that the animals did not always do the same to us.
As a result, we did see an elephant a few times a little closer than intended, but fortunately did not experience any dangerous situations.
