This springtail has collected quite a few pearls and is taking them home on its back.
A springtail is a small insect belonging to the order Collembola. These animals often grow no larger than 2 to 3 millimetres and can be found in the soil, on leaves or in moist environments, such as compost or flower pots. They get their name because of the special jumping mechanism that allows them to move quickly.
