They are not fast and are often chased by a hefty traffic jam of cars behind them. But they manoeuvre so beautifully through Lisbon's narrow streets.
When the trams meet left and right, you can watch with squeezed buttocks as they just barely touch. They also unerringly avoid buildings, lampposts and other objects.
